Several snap sharing programs allow you to make an easy slideshow of your collections of pictures; you can measure up the quality a bit by creating the slideshow in a video editing program such as iMovie. Using this program, you can easily add music, create transitions and even place text over photo, then export and convert wmv movie for use online or in a DVD player. There are instructions how to create picture slide shows on imovie:
- Firstly open iMovie and then create a new project by clicking File then New Project. Follow the prompts to give the project a name, and save it to the folder of your choice.
- Click the Camera icon under the Video Player in iMovie. This should make your iPhoto files appear in the bottom right hand section of the iMovie pane.
- Scroll through the photos in your iPhoto files. When you find one you want to use, click on it and drag it to the iMovie Timeline. The program will automatically set your photo to appear for five seconds and will add a Ken Burns effect to the picture, which means it pans slowly over parts of image.
- However the picture in the timeline to reveal the flower shapes. Click on the arrow next to the shape to open a submenu for the clip. Click on Cropping, Ken Burns & Rotation."
- Adjust the green and red boxes that appear over the video in the Video Player to adjust the start and end points of the Ken Burns effect. You can also choose Fit or Crop which will remove the Ken Burns motion and resize the photo to your specifications.
- Drag all the photos you would like included in the timeline by following Steps 2 to 5.
Put transitions in between the photos by clicking the Transitions tab under the Video Player and dragging the desired transition to the desired place between two clips. Add title pages to the project by clicking the "T" menu under the video player and dragging the desired Title Page to the desired spot on the timeline, and then typing in your title in the text field.
- Add tune to the project by clicking the musical notes under the Video Player and choosing from the available iTunes and "Sound Effects."
- Check the slideshow to certify all photos, music are the way you want them before export the video. Click Share and then click YouTube to send the video directly to that video sharing site. You can also choose Share then Export Movie to export the movie as a QuickTime file that will be predictable by other online video-sharing sites. To create a DVD, click Share then iDVD to begin burning the project to a blank DVD.
